Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions our customers ask about our connectivity and protection solutions. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact our expert team.
To select the correct product, you must consider four main factors:
1) The Environment (e.g., waterproof, hazardous area),
2) Cable Outer Diameter (to ensure a proper seal),
3) Material Requirements (e.g., corrosion resistance, EMI shielding), and
4) The Thread Size and Type of the mounting hole (e.g., Metric, NPT, PG).
Each product page has detailed specifications to guide you.
Metal Glands (like stainless steel and nickel-plated brass) offer superior durability, strength, EMI shielding, and resistance to high temperatures and corrosion. They are ideal for heavy-duty industrial, marine, and hazardous environments.
Nylon Glands are lightweight, offer excellent insulation, are corrosion-proof against many chemicals, and are a highly cost-effective solution for general-purpose and commercial applications.
We offer all major international thread standards.
Metric (M) is the current global standard.
NPT is the American standard tapered pipe thread.
PG is an older German standard, still found on some legacy equipment. We recommend using Metric for all new designs.
A breathable vent is a small plug installed on a sealed enclosure. It allows air to pass in and out to equalize pressure caused by temperature changes, while its microporous membrane blocks the entry of water and dust. This prevents seal fatigue, condensation buildup, and protects sensitive electronics inside.
Our quick-push connectors are designed for rapid, tool-free installation. They provide a secure, IP67/68 rated connection with a simple push-to-lock mechanism, drastically reducing assembly time and labor costs, especially in field installations or on production lines.
We serve a wide range of industries, including industrial automation, robotics, renewable energy (solar), telecommunications, marine, transportation, lighting, and hazardous location operations (oil & gas, chemical processing).
IP (Ingress Protection) ratings define how well a product is sealed against solids and liquids.
Ex (Explosion-proof) ratings certify a product for safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
ATEX is the European directive, while
IECEx is the international certification scheme. Our Ex-rated products are designed to prevent ignition by containing any internal explosion and limiting surface temperature, ensuring safety in hazardous areas.
Use 316L Stainless Steel in highly corrosive environments, such as marine (saltwater), chemical processing, and food/pharmaceutical applications, due to its superior resistance to chlorides and acids. 304 Stainless Steel is suitable for general applications needing good corrosion resistance. Nickel-plated brass offers a great balance of durability, performance, and cost for most industrial applications.
The operating temperature depends on the material. Typically:
Yes, the vast majority of our products are fully compliant with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive, meaning they are free from lead, mercury, cadmium, and other specified hazardous materials.
Strain relief is the function that protects the cable from being pulled out or bent sharply at the connection point. Our cable glands feature a clamping mechanism (a “claw” or seal) that securely grips the cable jacket, transferring stress to the fitting instead of the electrical terminals, which prevents connection failure.
Our solar connectors are typically certified to TÜV and UL standards for photovoltaic applications. They are designed with IP67/68 protection, UV resistance, and low contact resistance to ensure safe, efficient, and long-lasting performance in outdoor solar arrays.
Yes, applying the correct torque is crucial for ensuring a proper seal without damaging the gland or cable. While there are general guidelines, the ideal torque can vary by size and material. We recommend contacting our technical support for the recommended torque specifications for your specific part number.

To ensure a perfect seal:
1) Use the correct size gland for your cable’s outer diameter.
2) Ensure the mounting surface is clean and flat.
3) Use a sealing washer (like nylon or O-ring) between the gland and the enclosure wall.
4) Tighten the dome nut until the seal securely grips the cable, then tighten the body into the enclosure to the recommended torque.
Most of our cable glands can be installed with standard wrenches. Our quick-push and some circular connectors are designed for tool-free installation. Any special requirements for crimping or assembly tools for specific connectors will be noted on the product datasheet.
